Visual Basic Can I run the java programme using VB

If yes, how to implement it Besides, how to read in a text file in VB6 Thanks in advance! Process.Start will run a program, no matter what it was written in. Smart Device Development Community Device Preview RAM sizing
Hello, I've read through some other threads recommending setting the RAM via the file-configure menu and through the dos prompt, but neither of those seem to work on the Beta version. Are they turned off Thanks, Allen The file/configure dialog won't let you change the memory size while the emulator is running (you can't add RAM to a running PocketPC device, either). From the command prompt, you can definitely specify "/memsize NNN" to grow the memory size from its default (64mb) to any any number of mb upto 128. There are no features turned off in the Community Tech Preview. ...Show All
SQL Server SQL Server 2005 equivalent to "Quiesce Database" for split mirror backup?
We run on a SAN and we currently use a split-mirror setup to backup our non-Microsoft databases. We quiesce the database (which suspends all transactions), split the mirror, unquiesce the database, and backup the database from the split secondary disk. The quiesce/unquiesce takes a matter of seconds. Once the backup is done, we reconnect the mirror at the SAN level and it synchs back up. It works quite well. We would like to do something similar with our SQL Server 2005 DB. The database will quickly become a VLDB and using the native backup utilities will take too long (I know there are tools that can speed this up, but we would still lik ...Show All

Visual Studio Internet-remoting setup in VS 2005-client.
I need to logon to a SourceSafe 2005-server in another part of the country. I managed to switch to the SourceSafe Internet-control, but when adding a new database, it asks for the URL (which I got, and I would belive works just fine), and a shared path to a SourceSafe-server-file. I got a little confused 'bout the last part, as the server is located on another network, with no access, but http. What to do - Benne Miha is correct. Since the web service can serve multiple databases, you need to specify the known path of the VSS database. You don't need local access to that path, it is used by the ...Show All

Visual Studio Team System TreeView automated checking
Hi, I currently have a 2 tier tree view within a asp.net page (in ASP.net v2 beta 2) populated from a database showing check boxes on all of the nodes. When the user checks the parent check box i would like to automatically check the child node's check boxes (seems like a simple enough thing to be able to do). I have tried the majority of events fired by the tree view and found that they do not fire when the check box is checked/unchecked. Are there any events I can use on the click of the check box within the tree view that will either call a JavaScript routine (if so how do i bind the call to JavaScript) or returns to the server for the se ...Show All
