  • Visual C++ Tracking Reference (%), value, ref??

For a while now I have been reading the documentation, for Visual C++ 2005, in an attempt to migrate from native code to managed. I find it hard to understand how to use the different types, and what the equvivalent in native code is. Look at this code: ref class rc{}; value class vc{}; f1(rc^ c1){} f2(rc^% c1){} is rc^ myrc = gcnew rc; equvivalent to rc * myrcN = new rc; in native code And is " Handle to Object on Managed Heap " the same as " Pointer to Object " What is the difference of ref and value If i want a object on managed heap do I use the "ref" keyword, and value keyword if I want it on ...Show All

  • Visual Studio Express Editions Trouble with C++ Express Install

I have tried multiple times to instll the MSVE C++ package with no success.Everytime I try I get a MS .Net Framework 2.o installation errror, which in turn prevents the rest of the package from installing. I just do not know what to try next to get around this issue. I am running a Athlon Processor, >1GB RAM, Win 2000 SP4. Is it possible the because I have .Net Framework 1.1 installed, that it is causing a problem I look forward to getting some help. Thanks ...Show All

  • SQL Server Moving a SQL2K publisher to a SQL 2005 instance.

Hi, I have to move a SQL2K instance (publisher) to a SQL 2005 instance and i prefer not to re-snapshot all the databases being replicated due to the large size of the databases. As i understand all i need to do is    1. Ensure all published databases are in readonly mode. 2. Stop the replication (by either dropping subscriptions, publication or stopping replication agents). 3. Move the databases to the SQL 2005 instance. 4. Configure a SQL 2005 instance for the distributor (for a SQL 2005 publisher, the distribution database must be a SQL 2005 instance). 5. Setup replication to the SQL2K  ...Show All

  • .NET Development external / internal access to a web service

I have a simple web service / windows-forms web client / SSL scenario. Every web site allows only one SSL certificate. The certificate is stamped with the URL. Users outside the LAN, accessing the web service, will use SSL. Users inside the LAN will not use SSL. I want to ensure that users outside the LAN are in fact using SSL, and do not come in using HTTP. This is a shared web site. Other apps are on it. I cannot simply block port 80 at the firewall. Here is my idea. In app.config, I put the two valid URLs. One is the HTTPS URL, for external users, one is the HTTP URL, for internal users. The client application must use one ...Show All

Object , ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles PictureBox2.Click paintme(PictureBox2) End Sub   And the code for painting: Public Function paintme( ByVal square) square.BackColor = ColorDialog1.Color End Function   I need some script which changes the color of multiple Pi ...Show All

  • Visual C# Unable to update the dependencies of the project

The project builds and works fine until I check it in and check it back out then it won’t build. I have deleted the setup project and built a new one only to have the same problem after checking it into source control. It also givs me a warning that " Assembly ' FolderName\FileName.exe ' is incorrectly specified as a file. Any suggestions would be helpful. 1. Yes, there is a database project in the solution. 2. If I delete the hierarchy section in the project file I just get the same series of " ERROR ...Show All
