Visual Studio Team System Query for all items that've had been assigned to me?
Is there a way to write a query that returns all items that have had ever been assigned to me, regardless of whom they are assigned to now That is, all items that have ever had anything to do with me. Thank you. That's great news. I guess the query language in TFS is different from SQL though most of the syntax looks the same. ...Show All
Visual Studio VSS 6c database lost all checkins and checkouts
We are using VSS 6c (Build 9238) on a modestly sized Powerbuilder project. We have PB integrated into the source control database so that we can run source control at the PB object level. All was fine until this morning when we discovered that all of our checkout information, and all of the checked-in files were missing from VSS Explorer and from the PB IDE (Powerbuilder 8.0.1 Build 8004). The VSS database appears as though it has reverted to the day it was created, and lost all of the subsequent changes. We have checked the VSS database files on the filesystem, and the change files that we checked in (*.a and *.b files) ...Show All
Visual Studio Express Editions C# and relational tables in a SQL express database
I love this C# express!. I've gotten the hang of creating tables and being able to add data to a database using datasets. My question is say I have 2 tables a client table and an friend table with a foreign key relationship between the two. The friend table has clientID with relationship to to the PK ClientID inthe client table. My reasoning behind this structure is that I could have many clients and some of the clients could be friends but instead of replicating data I decided to have a friend table also with a relation to the client table. My friend table has some of it's own fields that wouldn't be on the client ta ...Show All

Visual Basic VoIP
Hello ladies and gents! Short question with a long answer (most likely). I am working on a multiple-client instant messenging application, and I would like to put VoIP into it (Voice over IP). Do I have many weeks of headaches ahead of me or have the nice *cough* people at microsoft put something into VB.NET to make it easy for me I'm using VB.NET2003 (don't ask....) Thank you in advance. There's nothing special about voice over IP, apart from any patents being held by those that have developed compression and transmission algorithms to make it useable. It's just a stream of bytes. VoiceOver IP has been around a loooong time. You ...Show All

Smart Device Development data compression on .net compact framework
I have data I'm transmitting from Windows XP Professional or Server 2003 servers to Windows CE clients. This is low-entropy data that could be compressed quite a bit to reduce transmission time. The System.IO.Compression classes are not available in the .NET compact framework. Is there anything comparable I could use, or should I just write my own compression library Thanks, Deborah http://www.icsharpcode.net/OpenSource/SharpZipLib/Default.aspx I've used this before to do what you are doing, with some good results; zipping to BZip2 and then transitting the data as a byte array (so it can all be done in memo ...Show All

Game Technologies: DirectX, XNA, XACT, etc. Question about managed DirectX DLL versions (and compatibility with future versions)
I'm a little unclear about the versions of the managed DirectX DLLs released in the past, compared with the ones released though Windows update, and the ones that will be released in the future. When I use "Add reference..." it finds a bunch of versions of DLLs. How do I know which ones to use If I use the ones that came with Windows Update, do I still need to distribute these DLLs with my application If I tell my customers to download .NET 2.0 and DirectX 9.0c, am I covered if I don't distribute any DLLs If the next version of managed DirectX doesn't have these DLLs (or the next version of the ...Show All
