  • Visual Studio Tools for Office Deploy an Outlook Addin

Hi I have spent a lot of time trying to deploy an outlook addin that I have created. This has proved very confusing... I have now created a new outlook addin that contains a single line of code (a msgbox) so that i am sure the code is not the problem. I install the adddin on another PC, but when outlook is run, I get the error "The current .NET security policy does not permit the customisation to run. and a lot more as well. I have made many changes to the setup, but none of them have enabled me to run the addin. Could some one tell me how to deploy an addin please, I am at my wits end. I am using VS2005 and VSTO 2005 ...Show All

  • Visual Studio Express Editions I need to count by ascii characters. Seems tricky!

Hey guys, I'm doing an expirement and I need to basically "count" but using a set of ascii characters. I'm having a heck of time. And using VB.NET Express. For example, in Decimal, you count 1,2,3...8,9,10. As you know, once your first character reaches 9, a new character is added, 0, to the left, and then you start over counting the 1st character such as 10,11,12...18,19,20. Each time the rightmost character reaches 9, the next one over goes up one, and if another char doesn't exists, it is created. Okay, I need to do this but instead of doing it with numbers 0 - 9, I need to do it with 93 ascii characters! Ranging from chr ...Show All

I posted a similar issue earlier, the difference here is that it runs properly. Nonetheless, the design pane can't deal with it. • Visual C# string to int

Hello everyone, Im trying to setup a progress bar, right now this is basically how it is set up, first I have the app count lines in a text file, this works ok: textBox2.Text = rowCount.ToString(); rowCount++; inputstring1 = StreamReader1.ReadLine(); then later, I have this where the listbox is being populated, the progress bar should show the progress of the population. textBox2 displays the number of rows, and the maximum should be this number but when I try to compile it, it gives me an error saying that it cant convert string to int, so I tried this with no luck.: progressBar1.Minimum = 0; progressBar1.Maximum = Conv ...Show All

  • SQL Server IP addresses: when SQL assigned multiple which does processing?

SQL 2005, 2000 Server SP4, IIS 5, .Net Framework 2.0 My SQL Server lives in two networks separated by a Netscreen firewall. From there the Netscreen allows the Server to talk to a well-guarded Sybase that is on the other side of the firewall. So I can ping the Server at one address 'A'- but the Netscreen routes the traffic to the Server at the address the server knows itself as 'B'. The Server can't ping A (the address the outside world and VS see the server as) A can't ping B and vice-versa The server can't see the outside world. We freed up port 80 at IP 'A' on the Server so I can publish reports. This all wo ...Show All

  • SQL Server Experts required to validate these statements of fact

Hi, Can someone please reply and let us know if these statements are true/false References to articles, help sections etc would be most welcome! 1.      Table variable is not efficient for large record sets 2.      Nested Selects will (always) cause hash joins 3.      SQLServer 6.5 joins should be removed. 4.      Select * is not best practice. I have read nothing that says table variables are less efficient than temporary tables for any given size - I know that it gets stored into tempdb if memory becomes a problem ...Show All

  • Visual C++ Creating Intellisense headers in C++ (Whidbey RTM)

Is there a good example anywhere of how to create a C++ intellisense header equivalent to /// in C# The documentation claims it was added, but the instructions are very cryptic, there are no "steps", and some of the elements either don't make sense or have changed since the doc was written. A code sample with compile instructions would be great!   XML comment is a new way for the developers to annotate their code. This is first implemented in C#. Basically the user can comment their code such as class, function, variable in a special triple slash format and these comments will become available when th ...Show All

  • Smart Device Development Winsock and timeout under WM5

Hi everyone, My application connects to a server using GPRS. Since the application is running in the backgroung, I want to ensure that whenever the user presses the red key (stopping GPRS connection), the appli connects again. I could achieve that but the thing is that now, my server is asked to reply as late as possible (to minimize GPRS traffic). When a request is sent, the appli is waiting for an answer, if I press red button at that time, the application won't connect again. I again there is a failure in the timeout handling in the winsock. I use the command : setsockopt(this->m_iSocket , SOL_SOCKET , SO_RCVTIMEO , (char*)&iTimeOu ...Show All

  • Windows Forms Wanted someone with a suitable terrarium for herbivore introduction

  • SQL Server Passing data between multiple Data Flows

OK, it's the first of the month...that must mean it's time for another dumb question! I'm trying to "componentize" an SSIS package with multiple Data Flows, and I can't figure out how to get the output of the results from one Data Flow into another. So, for example, at the end of one Data Flow, I have a Recordset destination, and I'm storing that into a variable.  But I can't figure out how to access the contents of that variable in the following Data Flow.  Can this be done, or am I going about this the wrong way The best is to use a raw file destination and source. You could use a script com ...Show All

  • Windows Forms Stream Writer C#

Alright there are two things i wanted to know 1. I would like to know how to write a directory which includes " ) } etc into a text file using StreamWriter. Everytime i do so, it screws up the code and will not build. e.g. Using System.IO; Using System.Text; FileStream file = new FileStream ( @ "C:\\Gay.txt" , FileMode.Create, FileAccess.ReadWrite ); StreamWriter sw = new StreamWriter (file); sw.WriteLine( "" C:\documents and Settings\.... "" ); sw. Close (); It's the part in red that stuffs up, i'm guessing because it doesn't like two sets of quotation marks. I've only just started coding, so if there isn't enough info there, please a ...Show All
