SQL Server Want Hyperlink to Open in a New Window
Greetings. I have added a hyperlink to a report, and it works like a charm. Now I would like to change it so that when the link is clicked on, it opens the URL in a new browser. I cannot seem to find any information out there on this issue. Has anyone figured out how to do this Here is the RDL from the report I'm working with: <Action> <Hyperlink Target="_blank"> =Trim(Fields!sfa_WebServer.Value) & "SFADetail_IntakeCoordinator.aspx Record=" & Fields!url.Value </Hyperlink> </Action> I added the Target="_blank", thinking that would take care of it, but it had ...Show All
Visual Studio Express Editions Seperating Text
Hi! How can I seperate a string eg. "4x+13=2x-23" into different parts/strings like this: Part 1: "4x" Part 2: "+" Part 3: "13" Part 4: "=" Part 5: "2x" Part 6: "-" Part 7: "23" I need to make sure that if (for eg.) the string changes to "40x+13=2x-23" that the "40x" will be part one (which means the character length changes from 2 to 3) etc. How can I do this Thanks in advance... Visual Studio Team System Ghost projects
2 weeks ago I had some problems creating projects from a remote location. The problem never really got solved but I can live with that for now. The problem is that the few times that I tried creating a project, the process halted with an error saying that it might not have been able to roll back all changes. Now my question is. The projects that I created doens't show up in the Team explorer but Source Control has entries for the projects and I'm not able to remove them. Likewise if I look in security settings new users was created for the projects. As with the Source control project I'm not able to delete them as well. Does anyone hav ...Show All

SQL Server Passing connection managers to subpackages.
Is there a recommended way to pass the connection managers from the parent package to the subpackages I also noticed that the subpackages can't reference the same configuration file as I get error messages when I try to build the solution. After I changed the configuration file for each subpackage it worked just fine. Did I miss something or is this intended to work this way thanks This falls into what I said: "The user must enter the password manually" If the user enters the password value in the wizard I must save that value into the configuration file because this is what the user want. Is not that we ...Show All

SQL Server Newbie questions with mySQL
Good morning. My client has a mySQL datbase and wants reporting off of it. The database location may change as they will have multiple database servers through out the country. I would like to pull the data I need and send it to the report versus having the report pull the data. Is it possible and is there an example I could follow to help me accomplish this. Thank you in advance, Aaron When you say you want to pull the data yourself, you will probably want to implement a custom data extension (see option 1 below). However, depending on which version of Reporting Services you are u ...Show All
Visual C# Using Assembly Language with C#
Hi, I need to use assembly language within my C# code for a software controlled hardware kind of application. Should I do it with C++ and save it as DLL which I can later inport and use with my C# code or is there a way to use assembly directly from my C# code C# code is compiled to MSIL (Microsoft Intermediate Language)... something completely unrelated to run of the mill assembly and because of that you would not be able to define a __asm block in C# the way you can with some C/C++ compilers. Instead your best bet would be to do what you suggested, make an unmanaged C/C++ dll that contains your assembly code and that y ...Show All

Windows Forms Open a file using default application
Hello, Back in VB6, I used the ShellExecute api to open a file using it's default application. In other words, .XLS files would open in Excel, .DOC files would open in Word, etc. The call looked like this: Private Declare Function ShellExecute Lib "shell32.dll" Alias "ShellExecuteA" _ (ByVal hwnd As Long, ByVal lpOperation As String, ByVal lpFile As String, ByVal lpParameters As String, _ ByVal lpDirectory As String, ByVal nShowCmd As Long) As Long I realize this may be a stupid question, but is there a better/easier way to do this in .NET I find it hard to believe that the old method is still the preferred way ...Show All
SQL Server Using a subreport with a parameter
I am new to subreports, but I understand the concept and maybe what I want to do does not require a subreport. But what we have is a report that has four groups that can be drilled down to the details. From the details, I would like the user to click on a cell (which is a customer ID number) and then have the report display the customer's details in another report (like address, city, state, zip, etc). Am I on the right track in using a subreport And if so, do I include the subreport in the data list region for the main report, and how do I pass the value of the cell that is clicked to the subreport parameter Thanks for the informat ...Show All
