  • Visual Studio Express Editions Problem Publishing

When I try to publish my VB .Net code, I get a series of errors relating to the length of the file names/directories: Error 2 Unable to copy file "bin\Release\Filllmark Saleshelper Configurator.exe.manifest" to "bin\Release\Filllmark Saleshelper Configurator.publish\Filllmark Saleshelper Configurator_1_1_1_0\Filllmark Saleshelper Configurator.exe.manifest". The specified path, file name, or both are too long. The fully qualified file name must be less than 260 characters, and the directory name must be less than 248 characters. Filllmark Saleshelper Configurator Can anyone tell me how to go about solving a problem like t ...Show All

  • .NET Development Major shortcomings -will vs2005 fix them?

I coded Dim a As Boolean = Me .ActiveCheckBox.CheckState and get the warning, implicit conversion from syste.windows.forms.checkstate to boolean. I have lots of such warnings.  You'd think vs would allow you to get more information on how to solve it.  I have many such warnings and can't submit a million questions to this forum on solving each one. In addition, I can't copy the warning Another irritant is the well known need to click alt+enter A bigger problem is my attempt to inherit and add features to a binding navigator. Let me quote from my submission to microsoft Please refer to microsoft technical forums http:// ...Show All

  • SQL Server Interactive Sort on date field

I have an RS 2005 June CTP report where the data source is an MDX query against AS 2005 June CTP.  I'm using Interactive Sort on several columns and it's working fine for the numeric and string fields, but it's sorting the date columns alphabetically instead of chronologically.  Is there a way I can specify that these fields are date fields and should be sorted chronologically Thanks, Dirk It sounds like you are sorting on strings (because the underlying dataset field contains a string rather than a numeric value). You should sort on a numeric value of the dollar amount - e.g. by ...Show All

  • Visual C# Manipulating controls in different threads

Hi All! here is my probleme : I 'am creating a control into a thread. In this thread i'd like to add this control in a panel in my main form (Main thread). But, can't do that, i'm not able to manipulate controls in different threads.  How can i do that Should i use delegate Thanx! Now it runs correctly with delegate Thx ! but it seams strange, cause you can remove or change controls in the panel from a thread but if you want to add a control, you need a delegate for the 'Controls.Add()' method. My Code Comment : Don't touch it runs !  ;-) Thx. ex : delegate void AddControlDelega ...Show All

  • Visual Studio 2008 (Pre-release) DLink -- Object DAC

Hi, I am a system architect for fujitsu australia and we have developped something very close to DLINK in a SQL object DAC. I can't discuss the details of our implemetnation online but I would like to suggest a few things. 1- Being able to automatically map an entity to a table while still being able to exclude a few of the fields from being stored... (they may be calculated or even be UI centric) 2- Being able to have an ID inner class that would be stored flat in the database. That allows for the ID class to implement the IComparable for sorting purposes. 3- We have also found that it is important (in hierarchies) to manage the numb ...Show All

  • Visual C# What does this error mean?

I recently started learning C#, and I am now trying to play a video file in it. I tried out something simple as follow, but i get error when I try to debug this. (Without debugging it doesn't give any error which is strange) The error is included following the code: private void button1_Click_1( object sender, EventArgs e) { Thread aba = new Thread ( new ThreadStart (targ)); aba.Start(); } public void targ() { try { string filename = @"C:\downloads\NTSC4x3_320x480_PAR2x1.avi" ; video = new Microsoft.DirectX.AudioVideoPlayback. • Visual Studio Express Editions HTML from website

Hi guys, I'm trying to get the source from a website from a VB program, and even though this is my second post, the two questions are sort of unrelated. I'm trying to figure out which header files I should be using when i run this chunk of code: ' Create a new WebClient instance. Dim myWebClient As New WebClient ' Download home page data. Console.WriteLine("Accessing {0} ...", uriString) ' Open a stream to point to the data stream coming from the Web resource. Dim myStream As Stream = myWebClient.OpenRead(uriString) Console.WriteLine(ControlChars.Cr + "Displaying Data :" + ControlChars.Cr) D ...Show All

  • Visual Basic Nullable Types In VB 2005

In one of the MSDN articles on the C# enhancements for the 2005 version, there is a mention of Nullable Types (see http://msdn.microsoft.com/vcsharp/2005/overview/language/nullabletypes/). Will Nullable Types be also available in VB 2005 I hope so, as Nullable Types is the only language feature that I find compelling enough to make me want to switch. A.K. No the differences don't go beyond syntax. You have the same support in VB, you just have fully write out the name of the Nullable type. ...Show All
