  • Visual Studio Team System Trouble checking out *.csproj.vspscc from TFS after migrating from VSS 2005

    I have succesfully migrated my VSS 2005 database into TFS. However I had to unbind the sources from the old VSS 2005 locations and bind them to TFS. This removed the not-in-source-control listing of some files. So I tried: 'Exclude <item> from source control' on these and I seem not te be able to check out any visual studio project source control file (*.vspscc) The message is: One or more items were not excluded from source control because their project files could not be checked out. The project file is probably checked out to another user. I really am the only user in this project. Any Ideas how to go about making this w ...Show All

  • Windows Forms How to turn on threestate for bound CheckBoxes in DataGridView

    I have a bound DataGridView with no unbound columns. Some of the database fields are bits (1/0). When the grid loads its' checkboxes are only two state. I need to be able to tell which bit values are null. I think I need to turn on the grid checkbox's threestate property, but how The DataGridViewCheckBoxColumn has an accessible threestate property but I'm not using any of those. Thanks! You'll need to set the ThreeState property to true and null values will goto CheckState.Indeterminate. You do this by setting the ThreeState property to true.   -mark DataGridView Program Ma ...Show All

  • Visual Studio Team System Web tests recording is disabled.

    VS2005TS RTM. When I start a new webtest VS automatically launches IE and I have to activate IE windows myself. The recorder buttons are all disabled (grayed) and surfing around does not result in anything in the project. If I close IE, VS still report "Recording in progress" and I have to click "Stop recording" but nothing reports to the project. Beta1 did work but I had the same problem with CTP August. Sten, My guess is that you have two versions of the recorder installed or at least registered on your system.  Can you open regedit and go to the following key: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{8C84B9F5-3D9E-4204-BB0B-F85D46455868} ...Show All

  • SQL Server Strange behavior with Calculated Members

    After creating a Calculated Member like this: CREATE MEMBER CURRENTCUBE.[Product].[Family Line Product].[Line].&[PCs].[XPC] AS AGGREGATE({ [Product].[Family Line Product].[Family].&[Business PCs], [Product].[Family Line Product].[Family].&[Home PCs] }), FORMAT_STRING = "#,#.0", VISIBLE = 1; I would expect to find this Member only in the [Product].[Family Line Product].[Line].&[PCs] Member Identifier. But this Calculated Member is shown in every Member Identifier of the [Product].[Family Line Product].[Line] Levels when using the Dimension Browser of SSAS. Hi Christian, ...Show All

  • Visual C++ Memory leaks questions

    Hi, I have created an application with VC ++ 2005. The application is running correctly but apparently it has a bunch of memory leaks (I am a novice programmer in C++) that I identify with _CrtDumpMemoryLeaks() . I would appreciate if someone could answer some of my questions: 1. I see that there is a memory leak even when I first create an array of pointers to a class I have created. Please note that this occurs before the constructor runs, just by the pointer allocation (checked by breakpoints). How is that possible Is it a false positive 2. A memory leak is created when a member function creates (with new) a pointer ...Show All

  • Visual C# How to use Webrowser.Navigate()?

    I would like to send form data to a web form and open it in the webbrowser control in my winform app.  However, how should I define my name-value POST data (i.e. parameters postdata and additionalHeaders) for method WebBrowser.Navigate()   Please see http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms161355.aspx   Thanks a lot!   Hi, I think that you may create a HTML page in some temporary location, that contains a script that is invoked on page load and does post. Then you just navigate in you control to that local temporary page, it performs post during load, and here you are with the result in you ...Show All

  • Visual Studio Express Editions Activation of Free Express Editions Expires?

    Actually this is a couple of questions: Do the currently free Express Editions require activation   If so, what is the reason Say, I am interested in the Express Edition and definitely since it is free, I download the IMG files and burn to CD.  Can I still install and ACTIVATE after more than one year if activation is required Get my point, if these things are free AND they require activation, then it is possible Microsoft won't allow activation after November 2006.  Considering I un-install and re-install software frequently and sometimes years down the road, I find a desire or need to install old software to solve some p ...Show All

  • Visual Studio Team System ExceptionException Attribute message argument ignored

    Correct me if I’m wrong here, but I have reason to believe that the “message” argument on the ExceptionExceptionAttribute constructor is ignored. Here’s my proof: I have a class I’m testing: Public Class Class1 Public Sub Foo() Throw New ApplicationException( "kaboom!" ) End Sub End Class And a unit test class: Imports Microsoft.VisualStudio.TestTools.UnitTesting Imports ClassLibrary1 <TestClass()> _ Public Class Class1Tests <TestMethod()> _ Public Sub FooTest() Dim target As Class1 = New Class1 targ ...Show All

  • Visual Studio 2008 (Pre-release) problem with primary and foreign key of type nvarchar

    Let's say there are two tables parent and child. The parent table has a primary key (name) of type nvarchar and the child table has a corresponding foreign key (parentName). When a new child object is instantiated the association can be established by assigning the foreign key property (parentName) or the parent property (parent) of the instance. What I have noticed is that if I go with assigning the foreign key property ( childInstance.parentName = parentInstance.Name), SubmitChanges() of the data-context would fail because the INSERT statement generated will contain NULL for the parentName column. And the childInstance.parentName appear ...Show All

  • .NET Development .NET Framework 2.0 dependencies

    When I install .NET Framework 2.0 on Win2000 SP1 machine, a popup dialog appears saying that it require MS Installer 3.0.  When I install MS Installer 3.0 on that machine, it then require Win2000 SP3 which is big group of components. I am surprised when I try to deploy my .NET 2.0 application to customer's Win2000 or lower computer, there are big group of prerequisites needed.  Honestly, I am not dare to do Win2000 SP3 upgrade to customers' computers. Any suggestion I don't think we can draw any conclusions about what the shipping Framework 2.0's final requirements will be.  It is possible that the curren ...Show All
