What expiration policy should i implement in my application to accomplish following requirements  i want to place data table in cache and that item should expire when the underlaying db table which is corresponding to this datatable is updated. keeping in mind application is distributed as well and i dont want to a round trip to db server on every form load.   The SQL Server Management Studio Express CTP application is not working anymore after having done so for a day. No messages, nothing when I double click the icon. • SQL Server Unable to install SQL Server 2005 Standard

  I am trying to install SQL Server 2005 Standard Version on my IBM Thinkpad running Windows XP (SP2). I am installing from the CD that was given out to attendees at the Visual Studio 2005 Launch Event. The install is failing on the SQL Database Services with the following error: SQL Server Setup failed to execute a command for server configuration. The error was [Microsoft][SQL Native Client][SQL Server]. The default full-text language is not supported by the full-text search component. All the other options installed OK. • .NET Development Store symmetric encryption key, Asymmetric encryption?

  I've build an application wich send its data to a webservice back and forth. All the data that it send is encrypted with rijndael. All working perfectly. Now the problem is that I don't want key used to encrypt/decrypt data wondering around In my source code. What is the best way to secure this. I've read about an Asymmetric Encryption. • Visual Studio Tools for Office SplashScreen in a Word Application

  First hi everyone ! So now my problem. I have an Add-In for Word. Its a menuitem in the main menubar. When click on it a new document is opend, wich has some features and so on. But to open this new document it needs its time. And if you work on a slower machine... well. But this is not my real problem. I want to display a cute splashscreen while it is loading the new doc. And now the problem: He loads first the new doc, and then shows the splashscreen. It would be nice if he could splash the screen and in the background hapens the rest.   Hi, I am making a scrolling text over a picture box. However, I can't hide the label background to show out the picture box. Any idea There are two different meaning of "transparency". Control is transparent in relation to background of it's container. This means that you can place i.e. Label in i.e. Panel (or PictureBox - but this cannot be done in design-time) and set Label's BackColor to Transparent (or some color with alpha-channel).   Hi,all here, I got a problem that I can only attach database files created on my local server, while database files from outside the local server cant be attached. So what is the problem then Thanks a lot in advance for any guidance and help. it happened to me that I was not able to re-attach database when logged in to the server under login B, different from login A used to detach the database.
