  • Software Development for Windows Vista workflow design for enduser

In my application, workflows can be created by VS2005 and compiled in DLLs. Can WWF give a way for enduser to design extra workflows and integrate into the app Thanks   You have to do a little work, but the workflow foundation comes with a workflow designer control that you can host in WinForms, WPF, or IE apps.  There are samples in the SDK related to hosting the designer including the workf ...Show All

  • Software Development for Windows Vista HandleExternalEvent problems

I am very new to WWF and I have recently downloaded MicrosoftR Visual StudioR 2005 Extensions for WindowsR Workflow Foundation Beta 2.2 and the Windows Workflow Foundation Beta 2 Hands-on Labs. I have been trying for some time to write an example of a workflow using a HandleExternalEvent, but for some reason the HandleExternalEvent activity always ends up in a endless cpuloop. In an attempt to resolve this problem I decided to have a look at ...Show All

  • Windows Forms Z order with MDI

Ive got a MDI parent with numerous MDI children, wondering if I can modify the Z order programmatically of the MDI children. I have 2 or 3 different MDI child windows. The user can Tile/Cascade/Maximize these but whenever I open or close a window, or return to Tiled mode from another state, I automatically re-order the windows to ensure that a specific one is at the top, and (if it exists) a specific on ...Show All

  • Visual Basic Context Menu....

OK, so I have a context menu that contains two options - a TextBox and a (Submit) option...it pops up when a user right clicks a radio button on my form. I want the user to be able to enter a string in the textbox, click the (Submit) option, and have the string replace the current text of the radio button. It works easy for one Radio Button, but I'd like to have this functionality available for several components. Aside from creating a separate ...Show All

  • .NET Development System.IO.Compression not as good as compressed folder

I'm getting much better compression when I make a compressed folder (Windows XP) than I am using DeflateStream or GZipStream.  I thought these were the same algorithms used in PKZIP and for compressing folders.  Why such bad compression DeflateStream: 3544Kb -> 1261Kb GZipStream: 3544Kb -> 1261Kb Windows XP: 3544Kb -> 804Kb So how can I get the same compression ratio as Windows XP Thanks, Jeremy ...Show All

  • Visual Basic Terminal Font

Is there a way to use the font ' Terminal ' Or any other font on your system. I notice that the Font dialog box doesn't include all the fonts on my system. Would I have to include the font in my project I am trying to use this font for a label. I'm not sure that why the terminal font is not included on the system - I would have thought it was a standard system font. The following will set up the terminal font for a label. Me.Label ...Show All

  • Visual Studio Express Editions Windows apps in native code format

Is it possible, by starting out with a blank C++ project, to write the type of program which starts out with a call to WinMain, and then, after doing some initialisation, makes a call to the Windows API to open a window before going into the message loop I haven't got any immediate plans to write such a program, but I just wondered. Yes it would be possible. You might need the platform SDK. http://www.mic ...Show All

  • SQL Server Question.

Using SSIS, If I have a 50 byte char input field (flat file) and want to put it out to a 70 byte char output field (Flat file), I should be able to see the output field with 50 bytes of data with trailing spaces of 20 bytes but I don't. I know I can pad the field with additional spaces but I sure hoped that without padding it should have put the trailing spaces due to the length of the output field. Have you tr ...Show All

  • Visual Studio Express Editions TextBox/Label indexing

Hello Is there a way to display a string value in a textbox or label and then be able to overwrite that value for the next instace of the string. For example I am reading a battery voltage off of a probe and I want to display that value and then when a new value is available I want it to be overwritten where the old value was without using the TextBox.Clear(). I was thinking if there was a way to reset the testbox index back to 0 so that ...Show All

  • Visual Studio Team System Running regular websites on same server as TFS

We installed the TFS on our new AppServer. We also want to put our intranet sites on the same server. I know there were a few issues with this, but for some reason I cannot find any documents explaining how to set up regular ASP.NET websites to run on the same server. What we currently do is set up a website on our internal server, then use our DNS server to point say: MyIntranet to 192.158.1.123. We don't use local "hosts" files. ...Show All
