  • .NET Development WebServices and Authentication

Hi there, I’m developing a webservice for upload and download files, but due to security reasons I’ll have to authenticate the user to access directories/folders based on IIS FTP accounts. How can I perfome that For now, I’m thinking about using SOAP Headers to transmit the user/password and create/set the user credential in the WebService. Is there another way to do that Where could I get some examples Thanks in advanced, Otavio ...Show All

  • Visual C# SAPI Lite for desktop?

Hello! First of all, sorry if this is not the right place for this question. Is it possible to use SAPI 5.1 in a similar way like the recognizer from a mobile phone I mean, I don't need SAPI returning me a text after recognizes a word; I just want it to return true/false by comparing what I just said with a wav (or something) already stored in system. Many mobile phones have this feature, it's called "Voice Dialing". There is ...Show All

I have a software created in foxpro 2.5 which i want to convert it to any foxpro under windows. there is any command or utility which can hlep me out. Regards, Asad If you have a copy of Visual FoxPro you should be able to open the 2.5 project and recompile it pretty much as is. There are a few gotchas like needing to turn theme support off and such. But, if you aren't looking to rewrite this application and just wish to compile a 32 ...Show All

  • Visual Basic Really simple question!!

Ok this is much more simple than my last question about iterating through all pictureboxes on a form!! How do you launch a web page in the user's default browser from a piece of VB.NET code In GML (the programming language I'm actually decent in) you use the shell function, but in VB.NET, this doesn't appear to work!! Thanks in advance! -Javawag  Protected Sub CreateProcess(Byval Filespec as string, ...Show All

  • Visual FoxPro Fatal Exception Code C0000005

I work for a company that has written a Rental Software program in Visual Fox Pro 7.0.  We don't constantly get the message and its become nearly impossible to track down exactly whats going on.  During in house testing we on occassion will find the error.  But recently it seems to be happening a lot to our customers where it happens in unusual place at time when printing reports or just random areas before printing the contract o ...Show All

  • Visual C# How can I capture the event of closing a form?

I have applied Form1_Closing() event handler to capture the Form-Closing event, but failed many times. I attempted to use this .Closing += new System.EventHandler( this .Form1_Closing ); to add the event handler, always suffered from a syntax error. Who can give me some successful C# source codes to fulfill the purpose. You might want to consider overriding the OnClosing event in your form rather t ...Show All

  • Visual Studio Express Editions VB 2005 express edition project loading bug

Hi, I have this very bad problem at the moment. Whenever I attempt to load a project ( or create a new one ) I get one of the standard "send this report to microsoft" error messages. What used to happen was that it would say something about missing files. Everything worked fine, but then I restarted VB express and it stops working. System specs: OS: MS windows XP pro CPU: amd 64 3500+ RAM: 1GB Any ideas how I can get it working again ...Show All

  • .NET Development Problems with Marshal.PtrToStructure for x86 code running on x64

THIS SHOULD BE A VERY EASILY REPRODUCIBLE PROBLEM AS I HAVE INCLUDED SOURCE CODE. We have a facility which resolves file paths to contexts on remote or local machines, and as such must work with the list of defined network shares. The heart of it is the following routine. This runs great under x86. I would have expected this to still work under x64, but in the second iteration of the loop, the second call to Marshal.PtrToStructure cau ...Show All

  • Visual C++ MSBuild in x64 environment with vcproj

Hello, With a quick search in the MSDN, I did not find the issue I am having. If this is already discussed, I apologize. I just got the latest VS2005, and tried to build 64 bit. It fails to build with MSbuild from command line. I have played just short time, and started with very basic. Still I am not successful. I am using VS2005 version is 8.0.50727.42 Here is the very basic scenario. I have created a new blank project "hello", my default ...Show All

  • Visual C# VS 2005 RAM Requirement

VS 2005 is great, but I wonder if upgrading my 1.5MHz notebook from 512Mb RAM to 1024 would make a noticible difference in speed. Currently it is sometimes sluggish. (Talking about the IDE itself, not compiled programs.) You will only notice diffence if your current RAM is full most of the time. You can check this in the Task Manager at the Perfomance tab. But a little bit extra RAM doesn't harm your laptop, you ...Show All
