  • SQL Server Issue regarding passing multiple values to web service

Hi All, I have created a web service as a datasource for various datasets in a report. The parameters in the report get their values from those datasets. I have a parameter named "Geographic Unit" and another named "Country". The "Country" parameter is dependent on the selected value from the "Geographic Unit" parameter. So, when a single value is selected from the "Geographic Unit" parame ...Show All

I've got a report model I am trying to move from a development server to a production server.  I published it to my development RS, exported the SMDL file, then uploaded it to the production server.  At that point, I tried assigning the data source to the model and got the error: The value of parameter 'DataSources' is not valid in the browser. Looking in the logs, the following trace is there: w3wp!library!7!12/12/2005-13:23:00:: e ...Show All

  • Visual Basic COM visible DLLs: are they only legends?

Can anybody provide a direct, straightforward method of creating a DLL with properties and methods exposed to other programs I followed the instructions that I found on the MSDN websites as well as suggestions from forum participants. The DLL should be available both for COM and .NET programs. So far, nothing has worked. There are numerous variations listed on the MSDN site. No doubt there are reasons for the differing instructions. However, I h ...Show All

  • .NET Development VERY slow binary serialization of strings coming from SQL

Please help! This is probably the weirdest issue I've ever encountered. I'm trying, in C#, to binary serialize an array of strings that come from a SQL Server 2000 database.  Problem is, this takes orders of magnitude longer than if the strings don't come from the database. The EXACT same 35000-length array of strings takes 0.1 seconds to serialize if the strings don't come from the database, and 40(!) seconds to serialize if they do. So ...Show All

  • Visual C# how to read object value

A simple question. How can I read (output) an object's value on a browser When I do this: Response.Write(objSomething.ToString()); it gives: System.Object[,] I know it contains some values, but it's not printing them out... OK so objSomething is a two-dimensional object array. You'll have to iterate through it yourself and print each element the way you want. For example object[,] a = (obejct[,]) ...Show All

  • Visual Basic How Can I Access Other Open Application Windows?

I am trying to write a program that interacts with another third party application window. They do not expose an API that I can use, so I have to hack my way through it. The sad thing is I have actually done this in the past (I had to process a large number of cases, so I wrote a routine that pulled case numbers from an open excel window, and then closed them out in this third party application). I just can't remember how I accessed and disc ...Show All
