  hi, everybody, i copy the *.mdf and *.ldf files from another computer to my computer, and run my computer's SQL Server to attach database, but it gives me a error like this: file *.mdf's file header is not a valid file header, FILE SIZE attribute is incorrect. i don't know why, plz help me. thank you very much .mdf and .ldf files need to be properly detached from the sql server service that is runnig them before copying.   I have Visual Studio 2003 and SQL 2000 installed.  I now have All the Express Betas, and have installed then, but the SQL Express Beta will not install.  It states that I have to uninstall Visual Studio, SQL and >NET and I do not want to do this since this is beta.   Hi, I am trying to transfer a table from DB2 to SQLServer 2000 through a DTS package. The DB2 table contains fields with default dates of "0001-01-01".
