  • SQL Server RS utility parameters

I'm trying to use the rs utility on the command line, but all the examples I've found use only 1 parameter. I want to use multiple parameters and have not been able to get it working. Can anyone advise if this is possible, and if so, how to do it. Thanks in advance Jez Hi, following the script (rss) file definition that accepts the datasource from the rs command line stmt. myfile.rss Dim definition As [Byte]() = Nothing Dim warnings As Warning() = Nothing Dim parentFolder As String = "MyReports" Dim parentPath As String = "/" + parentFolder Dim filePath As String = ...Show All

I was given this to go by: ================================================================== Theres a couple of steps in a possible approach here. One is to be able to read the contents of a file. • Smart Device Development positioning message box

Hi, I am using visual studio2005 to write vb to pocket pc 2003. I would just like to know the easiest way to position a message box to appear in the bottom left hand corner of the screen. At the moment it appears centred in the screen, exactly the postion that i do not want. sorry if this is trivial, but hey you have to start somewhere. cheers nubie Either write your own msgbox _or_ get the handle of the msgbox (e.g. with FindWindow) and then move it (e.g. with SetWindowsPos or MoveWindow). Those API calls require you to pinvoke coredll of course. I haven't tried the moving myself but it should work. To get you started, her ...Show All

  • Visual Basic Code Analysis / nested classes / what to do

I discovered by accident that if I took the stuff I'd normally put in a module and nested it in a class (usually as shared) I really uncluttered the autocompletion lists. (I'm a great one for always typing system.windows.forms.... So seeing less and typing more is in for me!) OTH Code Analysis complains loudly about nested public classes, presumably for a good reason. My question is simple - is there a way of correctly using modules so that a module's members are not visible in the auto completion list until you enter the module name If mod mine has thingies A,B,C in it I don't want autocompletion to list A,B, & C until i have typed ...Show All

  • Smart Device Development Installing device driver

I have created a device driver for PPC that I install and setup registry entries for in HLM\Drivers\BuiltIn. Under PPC 2003, my device driver DLL gets loaded at boot time. If I go into he remote process viewer and view device.exe, my dll shows up in the list. OTOH, on a WMv5 device, the dll does not show up under device.exe until my application calls RegisterDevice. Is there a way on WMv5 to get my device driver DLL pre-loaded since it doesn't seem that BuiltIn works like it use to What limitations are there for loading device dlls On one particular device, The RegisterDevice call fails with a rc=2 (NOT FOUND) even though the DLL is in \Win ...Show All

  • SQL Server Custom library Use

When I had used SQL2K5 Sept. CTP there was an issue using custom .net framework 2.0 library. I had to register the library in GAC +  had to copy the dll into .Net framework 2.0 folder structure. I understand why we need to copy the dll on the development box so we can build packages, but why do I need to copy the dll in framework folder for production environment. Should GAC registration be enough   If this is a feature, what's the purpose of registering the dll in GAC if it requires it to be in folder hierarchy. Especially in .net framework 2.0 so that the reference dialog box can display the component. The question is if I ...Show All

  • Visual Studio Team System Ways to Catch Multiple Errors

Is there a way to have the test case catch multiple errors (i.e. until a predefined max # of errors) and/or log warnings For example, I'd like to be able to check contact information. If the social security number is invalid, log an error. However, if the name is invalid, log a warning. Also, if the name, address, and phone number are bad, quit the test as there are too many errors. This way I could run the test once and make all the necessary changes to the test. Otherwise, I have to update and then rerun the test for each error. Also, how can I write information to the log about the machine, such as os, cpu, ram, etc. These features are&nb ...Show All

  • SQL Server move data from SQL 2005 to DB2/as400 using DB2OLEDB

I have a simple SSIS package that I want to move data from SQL 2005 to DB2/AS400. In order to use OLEDDB destination, I installed HIS2004 that provides DB2OLEDB support. For simplicity and testing purpose, I created a connection pointing to a SQL table that contains only one ccolumn "last_name" of type "nvarchar(50)". This is my source, I then created another connection using DB2OLEDB pointing to a table on DB2 that contains only one field "name" of type "GRAPHIC(50)". This is my destination and the connection works fine to DB2 database. When I run the package, it has type conversion error as fo ...Show All
