Visual Studio 2008 (Pre-release) MSBuild Target Redirection (Alternative to install/uninstall Linq to VS)
Jomo (etc): I'm guessing the same technique to get .NET 1.1 targets in VS2k5 would work for getting a Linq target Am I missing anything tricky about how the preview compiler operates Someone should make an app to automatically generate a new C#-like target definition for MSBuild, I suppose. Feed it compiler and framework locations, and optionally where to store the new VS template... Hmm... I do like that, in general, though it may be more useful for retargetting frameworks, to deal with People Who Refuse To Upgrade, so that you can downgrade to broken logic, or use third-party bits. ...Show All

Visual Basic Drawing a line on a user control
Hi I'm trying to learn about the Graphics in VB by making my own simple Graph control. But i've hit a problem straight away which seems to be a VB bug i' wrote some code to draw a line across the bottom of the control with a margin of 40 from the bottom and a margin of 20 either side. it all works ok unless i make the form over 395 high or 400 wide. if its height >395 i cant see the bottom x axis at all if the width is over 400 then the x axis is truncated to 400 wide. Visual Studio Express Editions Launching Debug Errors in August CTP of Visual Web Developer
Attempting to debug a project gives me the following error: Visual Web Developer 2005 Express Edition Unable to attach. The binding handle is invalid. Do you want to continue anyway Continuing just starts the project without debug. I’ve tried everything I can think of short of ripping everything I can find regarding .NET or VWD out of the registry. I’m using Windows XP Home edition and had beta installed previously. Everything else is pretty standard stuff with the latest patches. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled everything including SQL Express and .NET according to the up ...Show All

Windows Forms Applications Settings shared between projects
I have a VB solution with two projects in it. How can I access the settings of the second project from the first Thanks... ShadeZero Generally you would have one main project (Say a windows Form) and then Assemblies from there. You would then be able to get information from the first using the second by using the fullname of the application settings call. If you have two sepperate forms applications you will more then likly have to generate a wrapper around the settings calsses to allow you to read them, becuase from memory the files are lock to the application that controls them. ...Show All
