Somebody Check-in policy results in high use of shelving
Check-in policies are a great idea. The result is that we need to find an alternative method for backup up developer's work, since they will no longer be able to check-in periodically throughout a day. Shelving appears to be the best option. However, shelving requires creating a shelveset name, and results in multiple versions of files if done daily or even more frequently. System is giving me ViewState Error when I run the Script recorded in Machine A and run it on Machine B. When I see the view state of the page (where it is failing) it has hard coded value while recording. How do we make it dynamic I tried to extract hidden value from previous page and try to paramatize this hidden value on the hard coded value, it is not working. It still says invalid view state. Chris Aus Beta 3 Team Foundation Client: "Invalid license data. Must reinstall"
After much trial and tribulation, got all the server components of TFS installed sucessfully (single machine installation, workgroup authentication). After all that, installing the client should be easy, right Well, install ran OK, but when I try to run it, get message box saying "Invalid license data. Must reinstall". Omnibuzz Visual studio locking up when doing TFS stuff.
Hi, I am wondering if anyones else is having a similar problem as me. It seems at certain times when I do various actions (getting latest code, checking in something) the action completes and then Visual Studio locks up to the point where I have to kill the devenv.exe from the task list. Hi all, We have a problem. One developer checked out a source file in VSTS with the mode of "Prevent other users checking in and checking out". One day he leaves the development team but does not check in the source file. Since he chooses the excluding mode to check out, others cannot check out, and we cannot do any change upon that source file, either. Bayer Preferred method for setting solution-wide version numbers
In VS.NET 2003 and our old source control system, we had a file, AssemblyVersionInfo.cs that we shared throughout all of the projects in a solution that would set the version number of all the assemblies in a compilation to the same value. ToddWolff Merging individual changesets
I was under the impression that if I did a merge and specified a specific changeset as in: C:\Foo\Branches\Releases> h merge /preview /version:C39 RB-1.0 $/Foo/Trunk and that changeset only contained a change to one file then that one file would be the only one affected by the merge I am getting other files with conflicts that weren't part of changeset 39.
