Error in installing Pre-things...

Hello guys! After done some programming and felt myself as I COULD jump into another little subject without leaving Programming totally alone I came here to test the XNA Build...

I had to install many things firstly... It didn't detact my two versions of Visual Studio Express C#/C++.

This is the one that is given me errors: Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Premier Partner Edition Installer

As its installing... And I cannot see anything while it do that I get: Error 1311.Source file not found : C:\Documents and Settings\Adminstrator\Desktop\_1519_RTL_x86_enu_VSCC_Help_Collection.cab.

Verify that the file exists and that you have access to it...

Can anyone help me solv this quickly Thank you... BTW, I have Windows XP SP 2. FireFox as Internet Explorer... But dont think that, this is the problem comes from...

Basically, its where the XNABuild file is contained, so on mine its:

C:\Documents and Settings\Homez\My Documents\XNABuild\PPE\50727.42

Basically, download the Premier Partnetr editon to that cab/folder, and run it from inside there, and it works, as it can find the files properly.

Hope it works for you, I was scratching my head for a few hours until I managed to discover how to do it. Also, I am only 16 so I think I deserve a round of applause.

Glad you were able to fix the error! Could you let me know if you found the file with the data that gets unzipped as part of the install or was it elsewhere Also what path did you unzip the installers to

I've fixed the problem. Find the file the installer wants with Windows' Search function, and then paste the setup to the folder the file is contained in, and then run it. The install should last a few minutes and does work.

Sorry, I haven't followed on this subject alot, Managed DirectX is killing me! Its just because I want to be able to truly take advange of this application, it just requires alot of knowledge...

Anyways, I have not solved this thing yet, and DirectX have just taken all the space that I DID have on my PC... I still want to get the solution for this error...

I do have the DVD thanks to our friend Mr. Brain Keller, unfortounaly its not showing that anything is on the DVD in my drive... Going to try it on someones DVD thing some times later...

Now I do have the file downloaded and thats what is giving me this error... I am downloading the files through FireFox thats why its placing it on the Desktop...

As I said more testing I haven't been able to do, due to space needing... Keep me in touch!

Are you using the downloadable version or the CD Installer If it's the downloader have you tried placing the files elsewhere then your desktop (C:\Temp\ or something like that) also have you tried re-downloading the installer to make sure it's not corrupt
