vs 2005 beta 2 setup fails

When I try to setup vs 2005 beta 2, it says that it failed to setup visual studio itself after it gets to the end screen. The installation seems normal untill then because the vs 2005 even gets a checkmark next to it when on the install screen. The progress bar never moves when it is on vs 2005 though. I will post the error log when I can find it.

    I found it! Here is the log. I don't know some of the stuff in the file but it seems odd what happended to me.

    Do you have the MSI log as well   It's something like VSMSIxxx.txt or VSMSIxxx.log  
    Look for "return value 3" and copy the lines before that so we can tell what happeend.

    I have Windows XP Professional, Version 5.1 (Build 2600.xpsp_sp2_rtm.040803-2158: Service Pack 2).

    I had at one point Visual Studio 2003 installed, I uninstalled this + all the frameworks.

    I am also having similar problems installing VS2005 beta 2.

    Background info:
     -Win 2000 server
     -Logged in as Admin
     -Only essential services on (e.g. AV svc off)
     -Temp folders cleared
     -All other apps closed

    The key line in the dd_vserror80.txt file is:

    I have also tried copying the DVD to the network and installing it from there but I get the same error.
