VSTO required Office 2003 Professional Edition or Word, Excel as standalone applications.

Great question. Visual Studio Tools for Office does not exist for Visual Studio 2002. It was introduced with Visual Studio 2003 and has now a newer version in Visual Studio 2005.

just one more thing....does it only run under office 2003 or other versions of office will do the trick say like office xp
