VSS 2005 and Dollars

Hi,

I want to use VSS to check in and code manage server builds, unfortunately this suffers from the $ symbol being reserved. I was hoping this would be changed in 2005 especially as the files that have $ are relating to the OS or Activsync.

Does anyone know of a workaround or have a nifty solution to this. This only thing that I’ve considered is writing something to change $’s to !s pre-check in and vice versa

    Unfortunately, there is no workaround for the restriction on the $ symbol. We looked into it at some point, but it is a widely made assumption across the SourceSafe source code that $ sign means "root", so we decided against changing that behavior.
