Have you correcty uninstall previous version of the WinFX Runtime Components

Try running this command in a command prompt window

sc delete "InfoCard Service"

(Include quotes around infocard service.)

Then try to run installer again.

Yes, I use that uninstallation tool to uninstall any previous version of winfx stuff, but the problem remains.

When installing WinFX, I was getting "MSI returned error code 1603" until I uninstalled my spyware software (which is Spy Sweeper). I uninstalled that, then tried WinFX, and WinFX installed fine. - Steve Metsker / Dominion Digital
