Installation hangs

I have tried installing VC express on my machine and the installation hangs during startup(loading installation components), with the suite integration toolkit. the report gives the module name as vsscenario.dll. It is a system thing as it has installed Ok on another machine. I have uninstalled all instances of .net and dont have any versions of Visual studio installed. The machine is a 650Mhz pentium 3 with 384 Meg Ram, running XP with service pack2 and should be able to run the program. I am also unable to install from the net as it does the same thing.

Do you have kaspersky or another anti virus running in the background
Some anti virus software are pretty aggressive and may try hanging the system.

Hi,

I'm having the same problem as above. I had check that the temp folder in windows folder is not encrypted. Is this the folder I had also log in as an administrator. However, I still have the problem.

the same problem happens to me but when i want to instal team explorer the same error message came and i don't have a beta xpsp2 and my temp folder not encrypted

Does any one have a solution for this problem !

I found the source of my problem and fixed it.

This error occurred cause my Win XP sp2 was a beta version:
5.1.2600.2055 (xpsp_sp2_beta1.031215-1745)

Now I have installed a Win XP SP2 version:

5.1.2600.2180(xpsp_sp2_rtm.040803-2158)

And installed VS 2005 Professional successfully.

You could see your Windows’ version by running the command: msinfo32

in Run menu, and see your’s version in front of ‘Hardware Abstraction Layer’ .

Just thought I would add a note to this post as I had the same problem but had to use a different solution.

I tried to uninstall SP2 and the uninstall hung. In ended up having to perform a repair install of the OS. After the repair install I successfully installed VC# Express and .NET 2.0.

Do you have write access to your temp directory
Is your temp dir encrypted If it is, turn that off.

i have same proplem

i try to replace vsscenario.dll with new file from download

and the proplem dose not appeare and i have a string massage

after complet line setup

I have the same problem installing VS 2005. It causes error and closes the instalation right after loads 65 components for install and half of progressbar is over. When i click module in error box it shows vsscenario.dll is the reason for error. How could i fix this

I have the same problem with install the Visual Studio 2005 Professional Edition

It keep promt me the error title "Suite Integration Toolkit Executable", and ask me send/not send to microsoft. and the error report as below:

EventI already uninstall all the related software.

Your XP SP2 appears to be old. Install a newer version
(revision number: 2180 or higher instead of 2096)
You can also install a XP SP1 and install the SP2 later

Hi guys,

I have same problem installing VS 2005. Its getting hang at middle of installation and giving same old vsscenario.dll windows error.

i have uninstalled my any-spy software and also disabled my Norton Antivirus software.

I have checked my temp directory too.

i m using OS Name -- Microsoft Windows XP Professional
Version -- 5.1.2600 Service Pack 2, v.2096 Build 2600

Please anybody can tell me how can solve this problem
