Error in installing msdn and VSS in Visual studio team system

I have installed visual studio team suite successfully.I also have sql server express on my system.
When I am installing VSS then I am getting this error

In VSS 2005.

The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate
a problem with this package. The error code is 2337.

This is only the case with my systems in our software house.
When I try to install DVD on other system perfectly (except one more system give same error).

I have tried installing both from dvd and harddisk.Stoped all non related services.Deleting temp files but nothing is worked for me.

I worked with the customer offline on this.

turns out his virus scanner was overly agressive. by turning off the virus checker, he was able to install VS.

Please contact me via my blog at http://blogs.msdn.com/quanto.

I'll give you an email where you can send the full logs since there isn't enough info above for me to debug the failure.

    Thanks.

This sounds like two separate issues.

For VSS, can you look in your %temp% folder for the vs install log (vsmsi*) and search for "Return value 3". Then copy/paste the last 20 or 30 lines in a reply.

For the MSDN issue, can you delete that part from this post and post a new message I'll then point the MSDN team to that and ask them to take a look. Thanks.

    Hi!

I am hoping you will be able to help me out as well. I am getting the same error, though maybe my problem is just a little different. I am trying to install VSS 2005, but I have Visual Studio 2003 installed as well as SQL Server 2005 on a Windows XP box. When I attempt to install it, I get the same error as the other person. The first time I tried to install it, it gave me an error because VSS 6.0d was already installed, and I am wondering if that may have something to do with it, though I have uninstalled it now.

The install bar shows the file Microsoft.VisualStudio.SourceSafe.Interop.dll when the problem occurs.

Your help would be GREATLY appreciated here...this is frustrating.

    Michael
