  I actually sent mail to the NGEN architect who created mscorwks and his response is that this makes no sense to him.
  
  I can assure you this is mere coincidence.  The only thing NGEN will do to make your system better is to create native images so launch and execution time of .NET applications will be faster (whether the service is running or not).

  if that's the case then something is making my xp faster, if you would like to run this test for your self, run the process and start running heavy application which take long time to boot,  you will be able to see the ending result

  completely right but it feels much faster when the service is turned on, yes i know it will auto when it has  .net applets to run but still somehow i feel my none .net application run faster with it turned on..
  
  by the way am having problems with visual basic 05 express, something with mp3 flash  player
  
  here is my problem
  
  i made a web browser window, form1 etc added some graphic & removed the title bar added a picture as background and made the form drag able, the browser is pointing to my online html file which is where the flash mp3 player is,
  
  basically its http://flashy.hopto.org/filename.html
  
  the problem is when i play a single song, then when i try to stop it , it doesn't follow my command,
  
  please note there is nothing wrong with the flash mp3 player, it has to be with the vb code
  
  i have done a experiment with visual basic .net the trial version and made the same form1 as in vb express, added all the web browser stuff pointed to my online html, and it works their was no problem on stopping the song,
  
  
  so my only conclusion is vb express is having some bugs on it

  note in vb.net your able to stop and play while in vb express it doesnt, so any help on this
  
  
  just remembered maybe vb express handles the flash differently then vb.net

  mscorsvw.exe is the NGEN service.  We use it to generate native images so managed applications will run faster.  Once the native images are created, there's no need to keep it running so it shuts itself down.
  
  When you relaunch it, it checks to see if any files need to be NGEN'd and if no, it terminanes itself.  It isn't designed to always run.
  
  Now, why it makes your machine faster is pretty interesting but i can assure you it's not meant to do that (other than create native images) :)

  but the question is why is my xp running faster when its switched on, i have installed Abit Intel application accelerator 2.3 even with this it runs even faster so am amazed how the application launches in instant i have disabled few useless service's which i don't need, i understand that may also help my system, but again i click on the Ngen to start, soon after i press on i check the loading speed by using photo shop 7.0 it takes 10 seconds to load while on ngen mood, when it turns off photo shop takes nearly 1 minute to boot up so you see, am just wondering if only i could turn this process to automatic  
  
  it says .NET Run time Optimization Service maybe this somehow is optimizing my applications
  
  is their a way i could keep running this process NET Run time Optimization without self termination i believe my system board  is over 9 year's old and am not sure what type it is. my usb is 1.0 which probably means everything inside is old, so you could see why am amused
