My company is writing a large crm application. Within this application
there are 100's of standard prints that need to be produced e.g. Sales
Order, Delivery Note etc.
We will also be developing our own report writer something like the
design time interface for crystal reports with limitations on which
fields can be added to reports.
Can anybody lead me to some good sample apps that use crystal reports to achieve this
Is crystal reports the way to go with this If anyone has any other apps they think are easier to develop with please reply.

Sample Apps. Is Crystal Reports the way to go?

Hi.
If you have not received a response to this yet...
I would look at ActiveReports.NET by DataDynamics. It seems this product would give you what you need right out of the box!!!
Thanks,

We standardised on active reports.
Its much better than crystal but the company is immature and does not have in my humble opinion good testing and release practices. The report engine is good if you only use its basic features, as soon as you try to introduce complexity the product raises unhandled errors with little or no explanation.
And once we downloaded a release code and built it into our product, and a few days later they deleted that release and put up another one with a fix in it ! Not good
All our customers ask for crystal so now we are doing a two pronged approach with active reports for dynamic pdf generation from on screen html tables and crystal for proper customer reporting
