XAML app: what should I install?

Greetings, new generation developers!

I want to develop a application capable of showing a XAML interface. I've been doing some  research and it seems I have to install the following components (in this order):
  1. Visual Studio 2005 Beta 2
  2. WinFX Sept CTP Runtime Components
  3. WinFX Sept CTP SDK
  4. WinFX Sept CTP Extensions for Visual Studio
I already have VS2005 Beta2 in my machine, but when I try to install the WinFX Runtime Components (it tries to connect to a server for a remote installation, I suppose), I get a fatal error in the middle of the process ! Is there another location to dowload this component Or can it be a version conflict (I had VS2003 previously)

I would be glad if someone could help me setting up my environment in order to take advantage of these new technologies :)

Thanks in advance,

Ricardo Pinto

XAML app: what should I install?

    Hi Annie,

I' ve been very busy lately and only today had an opportunity to focus again on the WinFx an XAML issue. I have now succeeded to install the Winfx runtime, using the link that andokai pointed, so I believe it's not possible to send you those setup logs (I have only the recent logs from this installation). But I'll send you the setup file I have downloaded by e-mail.

Unfortunately, the second step of my list is not working as well!!!
When I run the WinFX SDK Setup, I get another network error:

Error 1606: Could not access network location: http://download.microsoft.com/download/9/4/0/940D82B5-17A2-4473-9D03-63D00E02502D/WinFXSDK-SDK_WinFX-common.0.cab

I went directly to this url and managed to get the cab file! Any help on this issue

    Thanks again,

    Ricardo

You might want to also install Aurora. It is an XAML designer written in WinFX that generates compliant XAML for user interfaces and vector graphics. The beta is a free download at www.mobiform.com

    Hi, Ricardo:

Sorry for the install trouble. Can you please attach the setup logs (in your %temp% and have dd_ prefixes, please send all of them) I can better debug the cause of the setup error and help you with the info.
If you are having trouble attaching the log to this trhead, you can send zip it up and send them to anniew_community@hotmail.com.

    Thanks in advance.
    Annie.
