However, what confused me is that is the server or client should open port 50000
you see , my computer connects to internet vias a server.

1. Select game setting, then the server tab, make sure the "Enable NAT support" is checked.
2. Use your firewall admin control to open port 50000. I use Linksys firewall in which I simply enabled IP forwarding for port 50000 to port to the machine I run terrarium. I can give you more detail if you are using Linksys firewall.
