It worked all fine on my laptop computer with English OS XP, but after moving the project folder to my desktop computer also with English OS XP, VS 2005 no longer displays the forms with UTF-8 charactors in recognisable Chinese but some gibberish strings... wondering what I haven't done to make it right. Any advise please

Yes, Chinese fonts were installed already.
Here is something for your reference to troubleshoot: if I opened the UTF-8 charactors forms, which were created on another computer using VS2005, on this desktop computer, it gave me geberish; but if I created a new form inside the same application and keyed in Chinese charactors, it shows Chinese correctly.
