Form overlay changes backcolor of overlaid form

The form’s backcolor is slightly darker (not the battleship standard gray color) Form1 has a 100x100 pixel webbrowser control on it.  When button is clicked form2 1024x768 is displayed with full size webbrowser control and browser is navigated to the same URL location of form1’s webbrowser control.

I’ve noticed a flash as form1 is being overlaid by the full screen size of form2.  When I close form2, form1’s background is washed out.

This must be a bug with a work around because when form1 one’s color was standard windows gray (control color) this did not occur.  I can’t find it in my searches through Microsoft and I’ve tried a variety of workaround’s using refresh, hide, show, screen combos.
