how to create a user defined Events work for the following topic

i have a MDI parent form having some functionality copy,paste,cut,save etc, i want to write a event that always rise when i click the menu item of parent menubar the functionality is working in child menubar. i have a save button when i press the save button in the parent i want the content of the child form is saved.and when i open the child again the save format is open.
