  Is this not a bit of a shortcoming with Clickonce   Are there any plans to include it with the production release of VS2005 (I am using Beta2 with Windows Forms)

  I think in the same way providing functionality to create a desktop short cut is important and I think it should be standard today.

  You cant create a desktop shortcut in a ClickOnce install. You can only add them to the Start -> Programs menu.
  
  If you want a dektop shortcut, then you should be looking at Windows Installer (MSI)
