I will be delivering a session (don't worry it won't be dull and it's an optional breakout!) on some of the ways an understanding of Microsoft licensing can impact architectural choices in the real world.
If you have an interesting example of a situation where licensing rules impacted your architectural choice then let me know at timbrass@hotmail.com and I will incorporate it into my presentation (and give you due credit)!

Oliver Sims, one of the contributing member of the IASA Foundations Working Group (which also includes Grady Booch and Scott Ambler) will also be at the Architect Insight event to talk about Removing the Business/IT Gap. He'll also be a member of the IASA Foundations Workshops that are being held along with:
In additon to this impresive line up will be Ivar Jacobsen (Independent) who it looks like will be joining the IASA as an IASA Fellow in the near future.
Oliver presented their work on Monday evening at the UK IASA Chapter meeting. this is a truly amazing piece of work that can really start to change and the beauty is that we (architects) can help define it! Architect Insight will be the first public beta showing of the IASA's Foundations Reference Model.

What is the thinking regarding use of enterprise security (eg AD domain security and logons) for external facing apps We've been using NT, then AD, external domains for secure public access since 1996. It's much better integrated architecturally, much less work programmatically, and much more secure, than all the various attempts to do security and identity differently for the web or for different client sets. My assumption is that with enterprise security in place, external identities can be internally mapped to enterprise AD domain id's and rights, without requiring any outside sharing of identity or rights management. Basically, its a matter of which external client-selected identites to trust, based on trusted providers eg Passport, VISA, MasterCard, etc. What's the thinking on this - is it being supported Extended

Thought I'd better highlight that there will be a double session on Identity and Access Management titled "Managing identities across a heterogeneous landscape". With all the industry movement in this space at the moment and the fact that it is one of the hot topics at the moment, this'd be a great session to go to if you are unfamiliar with it.
Plus - I'd like to meet you and find out what problems you are trying to address in this space.
I'm going to concentrate primarily on the corporate/enterprise space (inside the firewall), but I will briefly introduce 3 big topics in the industry at the moment - Kim Cameron's (www.identityblog.com) 7 laws of identity; Microsoft's vision of a thing called the identity metasystem and a technology which is currently in technical preview (it is part of Windows Communications Foundation, what you might know as Indigo) - Infocard.
I have no idea why the fonts in this post are of random sizes. I can't set the size for some reason.
See you at the event...

Simon,
I am very interesting in understanding how the rules engine (DragonFly) forms a part of WF and how customers are using / planing to use WF.
