I am using Visio for Enterprise Architects that came with the latest release of Visual Studio 2005 and am designing a new database from scratch. I have commented all tables and columns but cannot find a way to pass those values into the database during creation. This is a vital component or any database modeling tool (such as ERwin) and am curious why this seems to not be supported. I am creating the database in SQL Server 2005.
If there is a workaround, 3rd party tool, or something, please help me find a solution.

So, no one from Microsoft has any input on this Does this mean there are neither any solutions today nor any plans in the future to address this Should I abandon using Visio for data modeling and renew my license to ERwin instead

There is a feature to create comments from column notes in VEA 2005. It is turned off by default and does not seem to work anyway. Go to 'Database -> Options -> Drivers' dialog box and then click on 'Driver Misc' tab. There you'll find the folloging options in the 'SQL COMMENT ON' section.
1. do not generate
2. generate only for those with used-defined notes
3. generate only for those with used-defined notes and auto-generate when not specified.
If you get this message let me know if you got it to work.
