Problem with Visual C++ and Windows XP Media Center Edition 2004
Hi, yesterday I have installed the Visual C++ Express Edition and now my Media Center doesn't work anymore. When I start it there is an error in ehRec.exe and than the Media Center is terminated. How can I corret this error
I've the same Problem. Due to an virus i have to re-install everything. I suppose it's not caused by Visual C++ but with Service Pack 2. I've installt XP SP2 cause Visual Studio requests it.
After re-Installing everythin i haven't installed Visual Studio right now, but SP2 and I get the same ehRec.exe problem at shutting down.
I also have the problem that media center doesn't work at the moment. (without Visual studio)
I have Radeon 9600 XT, ATI Catalyst video driver, different Windows Media Driver, 2 monitor installed (tv out), external USB DVB-T TV encoder, and McAfee Security Suite and Office 2003. May be some interferences with that
I had to reinstall in Oct of 2005 and I've been seeing this error ever since whenever I shut my system down. My media center 2004 is not working either. My problem started after I installed a microsoft patch. I've asked MicroSoft for help but no luck. Please email me if you find a solution or what patch this file is in for media edition 2004.

I looked in the product feedback center and it seems it might be a problem with the 2.0 .NET framework, but only the beta. Are you using the beta
Look at these cases

If you have installed the release version of 2.0 .NET framework I suggest you report a bug at the product feedback center.

Maybe Aarons blogs give some more insight how to resolve it
