Thank you Glenn Wilson for taking your time to answer. I am sorry that I could not be precise in the last post. Well, you see, I am the local admin, so I don't understand the problem. To be more precise, this is the error that the installation gives me :-
Error 1317: An error occured while attempting to create the directory : C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\VC\include\sys
And then the installation stops. I am using Windows XP Professional, and have Microsoft Visual Studio 6.
Is MVS 6 causing any problems, I wonder
Hope you or someone can help.
Thanks

The install needs to write to several system directories and the registry, for this the user that you are running under will need to have the correct permissions to install to those points. This means that the user will have to be a power user or a local admin on the machine. I would check there first and see if that works.
