VWD Design View

Hi all,

Im having trouble with the designer tab in Visual Web Developer. In any project im working on, new or existing i cant access the design view mode only the source code view. When i click on the design tab it does nothing at all, sometimes it shows the controls on the left, but it never switches to design view and stays on the source view. Even when its in source view the horizontal scroll bar isnt there. Ive tried what i know, gone through the options menu and even repaired the installation. Please help..

    Thanks for asking! I'm a member of the ASP.NET team, and was just popping over here to see what was going on. The best place to ask ASP.NET questions is over on the ASP.NET forums at http://www.asp.net/welcome.aspx tabindex=1&tabid=39

    That's really odd, did you get any install errors or anything unusual   Try posting over in teh ASP.NET forums and see if anyone else has seen anything similar.

    I am having the exact same problem!

    My installation is on a Win2k system which although people on the internet can see it, it can't see the internet.

    When i click on the design tab (bottom left) nothing happens but if i click on it several times then VWDexpress will sit there using 98-99% cpu ... if i open the help/about box while its doing this then it stops using 99% cpu,,, when i close the help box then it starts using 99% cpu again.

    I really don't know what to do,,, and these forums have proved less than helpful so far :-(

    I would think that there must be a massive community of VWDExpress users by now as it is free but we really need somewhere that people can get real help for it.

    I've tried the IRC channels and usenet, not very successful so far.

    Ok, i have fixed the problem for now.

    in control panel add/remove programs when you choose VWD, the installer gives you the choice to re-install/repair and re-installs everything.

    I chose to do this and after a mere half-hour or so and two reboots the entire application .net 2.0 etc. was re-installed and now the visual designer works.
