Where are the registration benefits

Have just installed and registerd VB Express. I received an email with a link to the registrations benefits page (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/ LinkId=52054). This link leads however to Microsoft Connect, not the registration benefits page. The link given in the Express Registration FAQ is the same incorrect link.

Judging from this forum, this seems to be quite common. has anyone got a working link to the page

Cheers

Newsflash -- I went to the exact same link today, and now the page is in fact the promised Benefits Registration Portal. Go figure...

yep .. the same thing for me with visual studio express ...
    here is the benifits page
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/express/register/

and when i go to any of the links listed in this thread iall i get is

Error: The page you have requested is unavailable or you do not have access.

i'm registered on the connect portal and their are 'programs' listed , i have even joind one or 2 .. of course their is nothing even hinting at anything stated on the benifits page

I get the same error also :(

FWIW, I have the same problem as lucindrea, with one more observation: I get the "page you requested is unavailable or you do not have access" error message when I'm using Firefox as my browser (that figures). If I switch to Internet Explorer, then I get the list of "programs" that have nothing to do with Visual Studio. Either way, it's just another disappointment from Microsoft.

Well, now since I have the same red error message showing, what is the solution
Will it work in a few days or shall I re-install and re-register

    Thanks

Today (Jan 1 2006) the link works.  Takes me to the following page:

    https://connect.microsoft.com/downloads/downloads.aspx SiteID=40

There is a bug in the registration process. If you try to register and decide for whatever reason to create a new passport id, then follow the links to the registration page, you will not get the benefits page. What I did was separately create a specific passport id just for the one product. Once I had verified my passport id and email, I then registered the product. You are asked to complete a questionaire of personal information and interests. It will then take you to connect.microsoft.com and should show Visual Studio 2005 Express Program as the program you are involved with. If you do not see this listed in My Particpations then the registration process did not work. I also found that using the same passport id as the one used to register SQL Express also gave this problem.

Once at the benefits page, there is a link to "My Participation". If you click that link, it will take you to the registration benefits portal, where you can DL varying things.

And when I got to that page and tried to download the e-book I got
"downloadDetails.aspx"  which was gobbledygook and useless!

I am experiencing the same problem, the link leads only to Microsoft Connect and does not provide any options for the "benefits" such as the stock photography, icons, components, and e-book.  If someone could provide a working link to these benefits it would be most appreciated.
