I searched the whole forum, I found 32 links with th e"activation key" None of them helped me.
I just installed Web Express. I go to Help->Register Product
(Many post states that there is an "Activate product" in Help. No, there is nothing like thios. It is "Register product" instead.)
I get a web page, I log in with my passport. Finally I receive a web page that looks exactly like this:
| ||||||||||||||
| So, I received the email with links to benefits to the email I entered at profile.microsoft.com. (Yes, I made it as stated in the other posts). I even can download the benefits and access the other links. My question is; where is my activation link (Yes, I read that it will be displayed in a web page, it is not sent by an email. As everybody can see, no activation keyy is displayed in the web page I just copy-paste-ed above). Supposing I'll receive it somehow, how and where can I use it, because I see no place in my web express edition IDE where I could enter it. I would really love to get it, I'm going to go crazy... MS guys, the framework 2 is great, the IDEs are great, your initiative to make free versions is EXCELLENT but this way of registering finally will make me crazy and I'll fly to other dev tools. Yes, eventually I'll miss the great drag and drop features... Please, help me, please... | ||||||||||||||

I downloaded the Visual Studio C# Express Edition and the Web Developer Express Edition from Microsoft's official web site. I did it by downloading the image files for an offline installation. I didnt know that there's no need for any activation key for products installed offline.
Scotty, you swiched on the light in my head, that's the problem.
I tried to get an activation key because everybody here is doing so. It is possible that I didn't see this offline issue or it isn't stated on the download page. However, now it is ok.
Thanks a lot, Scotty and Kathy, I'm going on with MS
