Hey,
maybe a strange question, but I couldnt find the answer anywhere.
I downloaded the VB 2005 Express Edition beta 2, and registered. I was hoping to be able to use it for the trial periode and then see if I would buy it.
After activation, I still get this error when clicking at "new project"
The number separator information specified in the NumberFormatInfo is ambiguous for parsing.
Now my English isnt very well so I would have no idea what that means.

Also a little extra question, from the videos I have seen of the 2005 Express Edition, it looks very good, can I already order it, because I only see the "standard" one in the "how to buy" section of the microsoft site

Error when trying to create new project

but still the same problem. When I click new project I do get the window with the choice of windowsApplication or Console etc, but when I click one step further it gives me this error.
Any other ideas

Don't feel bad...English is my first language and I don't understand that message!
You can currently download the beta editions...actual release is not due until Nov 05

I think it means that the installation is corrupt, the product probably needs to be deinstalled and then re-installed.
I ran VBexpress Beta2 and it was wonderful with no problems like that, that's why I think the installation is corrupted.

I tried following the steps of the post on top of this forum, to first remove everything and then a complete reinstall but still the same problem.

There have been reports of this issue but it is hard to reproduce. Would you please post:
- Your OS version.
- Your regional settings. Your OS language.
- The language of your VB Express copy.
Thanks.

- Windows XP
- Os is English, regional settings are Dutch.
- English (this one: http://lab.msdn.microsoft.com/express/vbasic/default.aspx )

Try English (American regional settings) start from the simple... creating a project and if you fail backing up a step all the way back to a deinstallation and redowloading it with english settings.
At some point it should work. I used VB express for quite a while and it worked flawlessly for me.
