I just downloaded and installed VS 2005 beta 2 and when I went to run one of VS programs I got a dialog box saying it has expired. why is this coming up after I just installed it and how do I get to use it
Sorry that you are having problems using VS 2005. Can you please provide the following information so we can diagnose the problem
1. Have you have any previous installations of Visual Studio 2005 or any one of the Express edition products such as Beta 1 or one of the CTP releases
2. Can you provide some details about the dialog box that you see when you launch the product Does it ask you to register and activate the product, or does it simply say the product is expired It would be great if you can copy & paste the entire message into a post.
3. Have you changed the system clock of your machine since installing the product
Had the same problem with Manual Download (wanted to install on a PC not connected to the Internet) August 4, 2005 weekend. Installation of Framework 2.0 beta and VB Express 2005 went well. But VB Express displayed expired message upon launch.
If the downloads are not supposed to work due to impending release ( Would think a downloader would likely purchase on release); it should not be permitted. Thanks.
I have this same sympthoms. I have just downloaded and installed Visual C# 2005 Express Edition Beta but when I try to run this application I recive message "The beta period has expired" 1) I had no prevois installations of VS 2)dialog box informs "The beta period has expired" and that now I can safely remove Visual C# 2005 Express Edition Beta from my harddrive 3) I have never done any system clock chnages to my hardware
beta 2 expired
