I downloaded 2005 a few months ago. I find it great. I did not get the MSDN Library, but it said I could get it "at a later time". I bought a book the other day with the MS VB 2005 Express Ed Disk. But with trying it I can only get to a message that says, "Unable to locate the product. Pleases enter the location of Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Express Edition - ENU."
I've tried and tried but to no avail.
Are there any comments on this, please
I did have some trouble with dotNET around Easter Time when MS tried to help out. But I got weary with 'doing this and doing that' going on for a long while so I abandoned dotNET and got 2005. I wondered if there is a connection

If you had a quick look at the help then you probably good - as the msdn library is the basis of the help - so I think you are good.
The repair option will ensure that you have the correct files on your machine and everything is what it should be.
You would only get the repair option if you are trying to run setup on an application which is already installed.

If you download the VB Express product or probably if you install the product from the CD there should be a couple of additional items you can install - MSDN is one of them, SQL Express is another.
Selecting MSDN from the install should allow you to see the help.

Thanks for your answer. I 'think' I have what I want now. I have only just finished with the procedure I am going to tell you about and had a quick look.
I took the plunge and put on the disk I got with the book I purchased: "Mastering VB 2005 Exp.Ed" by Evangelos Petrousos and Acey J.Bunch. The same as before happened but this time I chose the Web and then 'Repair' option. I shall have to see how things go It seemed a bit slow when I looked at a couple of my programs - but that is probably due to 'post download stress' ! I had a quick look at 'Help' but a longer one has to be done.
But, thankyou very much spotty for giving me the impetus to GO.
