Be careful not to confuse the activation key for your product with the access code to your eReference book registration benefit.

The product activation key for your Express product is presented on a Web page after it is confirmed that you have a valid e-mail associated with your Passport account. To get an activation key, go to "Activate Product" on the Help menu in the application, click on the Register link, and complete the registration process. After your e-mail address is confirmed, you should immediately see the Web page with your product activation key.

The benefit access code is sent in an e-mail a few days *after* you have completed the registration process. This is an access code to free online eReference books. Please note that your eReference book access code should be entered one time only; re-entering it will give you an error message. To re-access your eReference books, go to the My Learning Page at Microsoft Learning and log into Passport.

I just tried to copy and post my registration key and I get the registration key is not valid. Does it take some time before you can register the product or can you do it as soon as you download and get the key.

Every time I start Visual Web Developer 2005 Express I get a windows pop-up which tells me to register the product now.

When I click on the message it will route me to thist website:

    https://profile.microsoft.com/ProductActivation/ProductActivation.aspx lcid=1033&WizId=9a8bdc4e-05ae-45c7-a17e-66b864c33382&pid=76872-000-0000011-00123

Here I sign in with my hotmail account after which I will receive an e-mail from Microsoft with: "Thank you for registering Visual Web Developer 2005 Express Edition!" as a subject. However in the e-mail I do not see any other way to register the product.

Is there a way to stop this pop-up and register the product correctly

It is really starting to get old...

    Hi,

Are you sure you have not mixed up the activation codes between the different Express Products

Please verify once more and if that does not work then submit it as a bug at the Product Feedback Center.
