As of this moment I already have 2 "Thank you for registering Visual C# 2005 Express Edition!" e-mails in my inbox and just now, Visual C# asks again to register
I'm OK with registering, but not if it keeps asking for it every day or two.
What could be the problem

In this e-mail, no registration key is provided. Moreover, if I click Help > Register Product... This same page is displayed in the browser, there is no dialog box.
As of this moment, C# isnt' asking for registration anymore (after 2 successfull registrations), but the same problem occurs with VWD. I should note that both products where installed without using Web Setup as someone else also noted in this thread. After all, this is not MSN Messenger ;).

Same here.
That's OK as long as you don't reinstall (possibly after reinstalling Windows). Would be nice if it is hassle free to setup and not having to spoof Microsoft with a fresh Hotmail address just to get the product working again, won't it As of this moment I'm not so sure that is possible.

There was no Reg key in either of the 2 emails, just a thank you and a link to my benefits portal.
In the website that opens when I click the Benefits Portal link, it has a link for My Product Keys but when I click there, it says there are none available.
I did install from a downloaded .IMG file mounted as a virtual drive ( so shouldnt need a registration key )
but it is still popping up a Please Register thing when I open the program.

Let me know if you run into any issues.
Thanks.

I have the same problem with VS C++ 2005 Express. I also installed from the .img.
Problem: When I click "Help/Register Product", no dialog box comes up. It simply opens a web browser that takes me to a website that thanks me for registering and says it has sent a verification email to me. No registration code is ever displayed or asked for. However, each time I open C++, it asks me to register.
On the other hand, for comparison, I installed VC# 2005 Express from the Web Setup and it registered correctly. When I clicked Help/Register, it opened a dialog asking for a registration code which I obtained and entered. Now when I click Help/Register, it says I have already registered. (Note however that I installed and registered VC# before installing VC++.)
Is there a way to register VC++ from the commandline or something - without requiring the dialog box that doesn't come up
