Hi,
I can't install SP2 on my Xp because my modem's driver works only on SP1.
But it required by VC# Express.
What i can do
I think that the best way it installing Sharpdevelop (http://sharpdevelop.net) 2.0 and continuing development on .NET framework under opensource IDE.

It doesnt support 16bit apps :-(

I think the best bet is contact your Modem manufacturer and download an un updated driver for your modem.

Windows XP SP2 is required for installation and you can't get around that.

get a new modem because sp2 is a free upgrade and it alone is worth the money.

I have downloaded LASTED driver and on SP2 it says "not valid 32-bit application..." it sucks...
SP2 DOES NOT SUPPORT 16bit APPS!

  • Praveen.P.L

Modems are so cheap; definitely worth the upgrade since this is all free.

It does support 16 bit apps. I can only guess that the file is corrupt, so I suggest downloading again. Other than that buy a new modem.
