VWD 2005 Express

After installing VWD 2005 Express, I get the following every time I start Word or Excel 2003:

Please wait while Windows Visual Web Developer 2005 Express Edition - ENU

Then:

The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'VNSSetup.msi' in the box below.

If I point to the file, it tries to install something but it still comes up every time I start Word or Excel. What is it trying to install Any ideas how to get rid of this

I've seen similar issues with other VS 2005 products. Try installing the latest office service pack which may fix it.

If that doesnt help, check the application and system event logs which may help you determine what's causing this.

if this can help to solve the problem :

I have the same error, when lanching MS Project
the Application event logger says :

    Type de l'evenement : Avertissement
    Source de l'evenement : MsiInstaller
    Categorie de l'evenement : Aucun
    ID de l'evenement : 1001

I have a similar problem, but with Outlook 2003 trying to install Visual J# Express every time I start Outlook. I solved that by removing Visual J# Express. Then when I started Outlook I got the request for the .msi file above. So I did as suggested above and after a long time (and having to re-register VWD) I thought it had worked, but now every time I start Outlook it re-installs Visual Web Developer Express.

I have also faced this problem and I have solved it now.

    You can reference it.

1:Let the window that you have mentioned above appear.

2Tongue TiedTART->SEARCH->IN FILES you can search the .msi file out.

3:You lead the window find the path that it need, also the path you find out above.

    4:Click the OK button.

    5:Congratulations!You got it.

VNSSetup.msi is the installer package for Visual Web Developer (formerly code-named Venus, hence the VNS part). Based on the error, it sounds like VWD didn't complete its installation properly. I haven't seen this myself, but I think you might want to start by uninstalling VWD, rebooting, checking to see of Word and Excel still give you the error, then (if they don't) redownloading and reinstalling VWD.

    Sorry I don't have a cleverer answer.
