  I had this problem and went through a whole list of different ways to make it work, including downloading a new copy of the iso/img, trying to use the connect to internet installer, and repairing the installation. However, I got it to work by choosing add optional components, and having it install the IDE, which for some reason was not already installed. After that, I tried uninstalling again and it worked fine. Hope this helps.

  I also have problems with uninstalling betas. My system seem to be ****ed up somehow. The autouninstall tool is not working. I've tried to remove all the items listed in the manual instruction, AND STILL it complains that I have beta components left, but it does not say which components.

  Could anyone list ALL components that have to be removed:

  - in which folder are they installed

  - do they have services

  - registry keys to remove

  - other things to remove
