I just installed vb express and there is no tools in my toolbox. It says 'No usable controls in the group. Drag an item......." I went to the tools menu and then to choose toolbox items, checked the selected tools but nothing is there in my toolbox. What am I doing wrong How can I get the toolbox items to appear

Have you created a project and have a form open In the solution explorer, double click on the name of a form.
Now you should be able to see items in the toolbox.

Also you need to have it in designer mode.
