Why can't it stay free

VB 2005 is free for one year.
I am a student, and I don't have the money to buy VB.
Is there anyway to continue using VB 2005 without paying for it

    You will be able to continue to use Visual Studio 2005 Express even after one year. Read the FAQ about it. If you downloaded the full ISO, you will be able to reinstall the software, even after Express edition becomes "not-free".
