  How are you installing, from the Web installer, or the full ISO Image. I would give the full ISO Image a go and see what happens.

  are you running XP SP2
  AFAIK .NET 2.0 doesn't work on earlier versions.

  i too am unable to install - but i am trying to install the vb express package - getting the same error as the graphic above saying it was unable to download the msdn portion and promted with the send error report message box - can anyone offer any guidance to this. i am running xp sp2... and everything seems to be fine - the only thing i find weird is that it aborts me everytime when i have downlaoded 284mb - i plenty of hd space... so... need some assitance...tx
