    It depends on what you mean by "commercial application". The Express editions and SQL Express only support local data, so as long as your application doesn't need to connect to an external database, you should be able to develop and distribute your application.

    So the answer is yes
    There is not a real problem that the express supports local databases, because, the design(in my case) was done localy, but the final program will be able to connect to any sql express/sql server through "serverinstance/database". am i right
