Connect to team foundation server tool moved

I just downloaded and installed Visual Studio 2005 Team Suite Release Candidate 1.  The tool to connect to the Team Foundation server is no longer under the Tools menu.  See http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms181474.  Does anybody know where it was moved to

To the best of my knowledge is wasn't move anywhere - even in forthcoming Beta 3 release it's still under Tools menu.

This could be an installation problem though. Could you check if you have 'Team Explorer' item in the View menu

    Thanks,

Assuming the RC/Beta 3 is the same as it was in the VSTS July CTP, it'll be fixed when TFS Beta 3 is released.  For that install, the Team Explorer is installed off of the TFS installation disk.  Team Explorer can be a stand-alone client tool (basically VS 2005 with the Team Explorer, version control and work item stuff but without any developer tools).  If you install Team Explorer on a system with VS 2005 already installed, it becomes an add-in tool providing the VSTS functionality you've come to know and love.

Be patient.  Beta 3 is almost here!

Dave is right - you need to install Team Explorer (the Team Foundation client piece) to gain Team Foundation functionality in Visual Studio 2005.

As I understand it, you're right.  Actually, I believe you buy the license and you get Team Explorer for freeBig Smile.  But (again as I understand it), a license is included with a VS Team Edition and there might be a few additional licenses included with the server purchase.

and that's probably gonna be the part for which you have to buy a client access license
